Attention Park Users:
BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT: replacement of the Pedestrian Bridge in Lenape Park is scheduled to begin this week.
The timber bridge is located on the Lenape Park Trail, and links the Pennridge Little League fields to the sidewalks on West Walnut Street. This project is primarily funded through the Local Share Account Program grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
The old bridge will be removed starting this Thursday, 4/18. Contractors start Monday, 4/22 with the installation of the new concrete pedestrian bridge.
There will be NO PEDESTRIAN ACCESS on the trail at this location starting Thursday until construction is complete. Also note, the PARKING LOT WILL BE CLOSED from Monday, 4/22 until construction is complete. Estimated project time is 4/18-4/26.
During this time park users are asked to stay clear of the construction zone and parked construction vehicles and access the little league fields and other areas of the park and trail through the Lenape Park entrance by the Covered Bridge.
