Leaf Collection
Fall Leaf Collection Begins on Monday Oct. 23, 2023
Residents are invited to rake leaves to the curb for pick up beginning Monday October 23rd, 2023. In areas with no curb, rake leaves to within 5' of the roadway edge. We are unable to collect leaves further from the edge.
- Leaf piles should be free of rocks, large sticks or other debris which can damage the vacuum equipment.
- Do not block storm drains with the piles of leaves.
- Do not park cars on top of leaf piles. No call backs if we are unable to collect leaves because of parked cars.
Leaf collection takes place 5 days a week, weather permitting. We collect leaves according to our published leaf collection zone maps (see below), and we will provide a daily update of where we left off and where we'll be next on this page.
The first few weeks in November are typically the peak time for leaf fall. We may not collect every leaf pile during these heaviest weeks and, as more leaves fall, the interval may lengthen to 10-12 days before crews return to your neighborhood. This is normal. When the department makes the final rounds in December we will perform ‘gutter wiping’ which includes vacuuming the majority of the leaf debris left behind from previous cleanups.
Leaf collection will continue as long as possible, until we need to convert the trucks for winter road maintenance. We will run a leaf collection date in the spring of 2024, date TBA.
Perkasie's leaves are transported to local DEP certified composting sites where they are turned into compost and mulch.
Please contact the Public Works Department, 215-257-6860, with any questions about the Borough's leaf collection program.
Perkasie Borough residents may drop off yard waste at the Borough Recycling Center located at 311 South 9th Street. Leaves and other yard waste being brought to the Center must either be in cans or paper bags. No material will be accepted in plastic bags. This is a free service provided by the Borough for Borough residents only, no contractors are allowed. Proof of Borough residency may be required and must be presented if asked for by the attendant.
