Road Maintenance
2026 Road Program
The 2026 Road Program is scheduled to begin during the Late Summer/Fall 2026 construction season. At its March 2, 2026 meeting, Borough Council approved the 2026 Road Program and authorized the project to be advertised for bids. Following the bidding process, the Borough received nine bids and is proceeding with the Base Bid portion of the project.
Roads Included in the 2026 Road Program
The following roads are included in the 2026 Road Program:
- Dorchester Lane
- Chelsea Court
- Amherst Circle
- Waltham Lane
The project includes roadway milling, base repair, and paving improvements to these roadways.
Property owners along these roads are responsible for the maintenance and repair of adjacent sidewalks, curbs, and driveway aprons. Borough staff will conduct inspections and notify property owners if repairs are required before roadway paving begins.
Questions regarding the Road Program may be directed to the Borough Office at (215) 257-5065.
How Does the Borough Decide Which Roads Are Repaired?
Every two to three years, the Borough's engineering consultant conducts a Roadway Condition Survey to evaluate the condition of Borough-owned roads and identify future repair priorities. The survey provides recommendations that help Borough Council prioritize roadway improvements and allocate funding efficiently.
The most recent Roadway Condition Survey was completed in 2025 and can be viewed here: 2025 Roadway Condition Survey with Map
The roadway rating system is based on standards established by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). Under this system, lower ratings indicate roads in better condition, while higher ratings identify roads that are more in need of repair.
In addition to the formal roadway survey, Borough staff regularly monitor roadway conditions throughout the year to identify maintenance needs and emerging priorities. The survey also includes long-range planning recommendations that assist the Borough in budgeting for future roadway, stormwater, sidewalk, and curb improvements.
Sidewalks, Curbs, and Driveway Aprons
Road resurfacing projects in Perkasie Borough require sidewalks, curbs, and driveway aprons adjacent to the project area to be maintained in a safe condition and comply with Borough Code requirements.
Property owners are responsible for the repair or replacement of sidewalks, curbs, and driveway aprons located along their property frontage, including all associated costs.
State-Owned Roads
