Trash & Recycling

The Borough of Perkasie provides curbside solid waste and recycling collection for RESIDENTIAL customers within Borough limits.

RECYCLING PICKUP CHANGES STARTING ON JULY 10TH FOR ALL RESIDENTS:

  • set out PLASTICS, GLASS, TIN, ALUMINUM EVERY WEEK by 7:00am on the SAME DAY as TRASH COLLECTION. Use your own RECYCLING container and set it alongside your Borough TRASH toter or bag.
  • set out PAPER & CARDBOARD for collection by 7:00am EVERY FRIDAY
  • Click here for updated RULES & REGULATIONS EFFECTIVE JULY 10TH.

Curbside recycling collection will remain as usual until Friday July 7th. Trash Brochure until July 7th 2023.

As always, RESIDENTS are also able to drop off separated recyclables at the Borough’s Recycling Drop Off Center.

We accept these items for recycling. We collect curbside, and Borough residents are welcome to drop them at the Recycling Center during open hours. Note we do not collect or accept recyclables in plastic bags.

HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENTS: The Bucks County website has more information about the correct disposal of leftover paint, electronics, appliances (including those with freon) and hazardous waste events. Click this link for more information.

Commercial, institutional and educational establishments MUST have a contract with a private hauler for trash AND recycling. Recycling is the Law.

Curbside RESIDENTIAL TRASH Collection.

Trash must be placed out before 7:00am, in a Borough disposal bag that is closed at the top, or in a fully closed trash toter. There will be no call backs for trash put out late. Trash includes garbage (when drained of liquids), paper, rags, leather, rubber, metals, metal foils, ceramics, crockery, plastics, and similar items normally produced by or originating from a private residence.

Residents may purchase Borough trash bags from Borough Hall or local grocery stores (“Pay As You Go”) or may sign up for a trash can/toter, which is billed quarterly.  Toter Service Sign Up Form

Trash is collected curbside Monday – Thursday. Click below for maps detailing the daily trash pick-up routes:

  • Monday Trash Pick-Up
  • Tuesday Trash Pick-Up
  • Wednesday Trash Pick-Up
  • Thursday Trash Pick-Up
  • Friday reserved for Borough-wide recycling pick-up (plastic, glass, aluminum only)

Curbside RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING Collection

Perkasie Borough operates DUAL-STREAM recycling, which means that we collect and dispose of paper & cardboard SEPARATELY from plastics, glass & tin/aluminum. WE WILL NOT COLLECT ANY RECYCLABLES IN PLASTIC BAGS.

FRIDAYS FOR ALL RESIDENTS: Plastic, glass, aluminum, tin may be combined in any open bin with drainage holes near the bottom. Please read the Trash and Recycling Rules & Regulations for more information.

EVERY THIRD WEDNESDAY FOR ALL RESIDENTS: Corrugated cardboard (flattened), newspaper, mixed paper should be broken down or flattened and tied. Please read the Trash and Recycling Rules & Regulations for more information.

Curbside BULK TRASH Collection (Residents Only)

We will collect one large item per week as part of our regular trash collection.  ONE bulk item may be placed out with your Borough trash bag or Borough toter on your regular trash day. We DO NOT accept construction waste or TV. APPLIANCES are collected every Wednesday – residents must purchase a sticker and schedule collection in advance. We DO NOT collect TVs or “white goods” containing Freon. We DO NOT accept bulk trash at the Residential Recycling Drop Off Center.

RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING DROP OFF CENTER (Residents Only)

The Borough Recycling Center is located at 311 South Ninth Street. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 8:30 pm and Saturdays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; closed Sundays and Holidays.

The Center is for use by Borough residents only. USE BY COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL OR EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED – EVEN IF RECYCLING IS GENERATED BY A BUSINESS OWNED BY A RESIDENT OF THE BOROUGH.

Residents: take your resident hang tag when you use the center. Do not lend your hang tag to others. Perkasie Borough staff may ask for additional identification when you use the recycling center.

Perkasie Borough operates DUAL-STREAM recycling, which means that residents should separate paper & cardboard from plastics, glass & aluminum at the Recycling Center. DO NOT DROP OFF RECYCLABLES IN PLASTIC BAGS.

  • DO NOT BRING trash, bulky items and appliances to the Recycling Center. Illegal dumping is a crime.
  • AGAIN, DO NOT BRING PLASTIC BAGS to the Recycling Center.

Residents may bring yard waste (brush, leaves, grass clippings) to the Recycling Center during open hours.

Please read the Trash and Recycling Rules & Regulations for more detailed information.
