SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARATION -
EFFECTIVE 7:00PM, SATURDAY JANUARY 24TH, 2026.
Perkasie Borough has declared a Snow Emergency, effective 7:00pm on Saturday January 24th, 2026. A full text of the declaration is provided in this update. WATCH THE BOROUGH'S FACEBOOK PAGE for updates during the snow event.
It shall be unlawful to park or abandon any motor vehicle on the following public streets in the Borough at any time within 12 hours after a snowfall of three inches or more has occurred:
- Arthur Avenue – both sides, from Elm Street to South Fifth Street
- Callowhill Street – both sides, entire length (except south side only from Fifth Street to Seventh Street)
- Constitution Avenue – both sides, entire length
- Fifth Street – west side, entire length
- Hunters Run – east side, entire length
- Main Street – west side, entire length
- Market Street – south side only, from Fourth Street to Fifth Street
- Parkridge – both sides, entire length
- South Fourth Street – both sides, from Cedar Avenue to Elm Street
- South Seventh Street – east side, from Borough Hall parking lot entrance to West Chestnut Street
- West Blooming Glen Drive – both sides, entire length
- West Chestnut Street – south side, from South Seventh Street to Borough Hall parking lot exit
- West Park Avenue – both sides, from Fifth Street to Ridge Road (except south side only from Fifth Street to Ninth Street)
- West Walnut Street – north side only, from Seventh Street to Constitution Avenue
- West Market Street – south side, from Ridge Road to Fifth Street
Perkasie Borough Hall will be CLOSED on Monday January 26th; administration staff are working remotely and can be reached by email or by calling (215) 257 5065. The Recycling Center is CLOSED on Monday January 26th.
Curbside Trash & Recycling Pickup scheduled for Monday January 26th is RESCHEDULED to Friday January 30th. Paper & cardboard curbside pickup is cancelled this week.
Crews will plow through Sunday into Monday. Town Center snow clean up will begin Tuesday January 27th, weather permitting.
TEXT OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION:
DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, on or about January 24, 2026 a snowstorm (disaster) has caused or threatens to cause injury, damage, and suffering to the persons and property of the Borough of Perkasie; and
WHEREAS, the snowstorm may endanger the health, safety and welfare of a substantial number of persons residing in the Borough of Perkasie, and threatens to create problems greater in scope than the Borough of Perkasie, may be able to resolve; and
WHEREAS, emergency management measures are required to reduce the severity of this disaster and to protect the health, safety and welfare of affected residents in the Borough of Perkasie;
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the undersigned Mayor of the Borough of Perkasie, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Services Code, (35 PA C.S., Section 7501), as amended, do hereby declare the existence of a disaster emergency in the Borough of Perkasie;
FURTHER, we direct the Borough of Perkasie Emergency Management Coordinator to coordinate the activities of the emergency response, to take all appropriate action needed to alleviate the effects of this disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any other emergency response action deemed necessary to respond to this emergency.
STILL FURTHER, we authorize officials of the Borough of Perkasie to act as necessary to meet the current exigencies of this emergency, namely: by the employment of temporary workers, by the rental of equipment, by the purchase of supplies and materials, and by entering into such contracts and agreements for the performance of public work as may be required to meet the emergency, all without regard to those time-consuming procedures and formalities normally prescribed by law, mandatory constitutional requirements excepted.
This Declaration shall take effect at 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
