Perkasie Borough invites residents and visitors to dive into the 2025 pool season at Menlo Aquatics Center, kicking off with a playful twist on tradition — the first-ever Penguin Plunge!
The Center will officially open on Saturday, May 24 at 12:00pm. Due to the unseasonably cool weather forecast, opening weekend hours will be adjusted to 12:00pm–3:00pm on both Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25. To celebrate the plunge into cooler waters, admission will be FREE for all visitors — residents and non-residents alike — on both days.
Guests are invited to bundle up in their robes, towels, and woolly hats and take part in a facility-wide “Jump into Summer” Penguin Plunge at 1:30pm, followed by a community poolside selfie. Prefer to stay dry? Warm up on the deck with classic lawn games like Connect Four, Jenga, and Cornhole, and enjoy HOT dogs, HOT chocolate, and other toasty snacks and beverages from the snack stand, operated by Rita’s.
“We know how excited our community is to get back to Menlo each summer, and we didn’t want chilly weather to dampen the fun,” said Dave Worthington, Chair of the Parks & Recreation Committee of Perkasie Borough Council. “This Penguin Plunge is a lighthearted way to jump-start the season and celebrate the return of summer at Menlo with neighbors and friends. Bring a blanket!”
Those who attend on Saturday or Sunday and sign up for a 2025 Menlo Membership will be entered to win a $25 snack stand gift card. Membership benefits include:

Not sure about joining? Come early on Saturday, May 24, from 10:00am–11:30am, for an Open House tour. Speak with staff, explore the facility, and get your questions answered before gates officially open at noon.
Menlo will also be open on Monday, May 26, from 12:00pm–6:00pm for the Memorial Day Holiday. Standard holiday admission rates and rules will apply.
