Perkasie Borough is aware that a number of residents and businesses plan to host musicians on their front porches during the afternoon of May 11th. Anyone planning to host musicians should notify neighbors on their block, be comfortable with the legal liability of hosting a show on their porch, and make sure to keep streets free and clear of pedestrians.
Anyone visiting Perkasie to enjoy the day is encouraged to support our local shops and eateries. Local businesses are welcome to email the Borough with details of shopping or menu specials, which we will share with the community.

Perkasie residents may be aware of a privately promoted community event that was scheduled to be held in the Borough on May 11, 2024. Perkasie Borough does not have a final Special Event permit application as of today because the permit application was withdrawn by the applicant.
A Special Event permit is required for any event on public property in the Borough, which includes streets and sidewalks. Large special events require the same safety measures used for Borough-sponsored events, with the promoters paying for public safety services and insurance. The current Special Event policy was implemented in 2013 after issues arose at a privately promoted event in a Borough park. Perkasie Borough restricts use of its amphitheater in Lenape Park to Borough-sponsored events.
Starting in May 2023, Perkasie Borough officials spent an extensive amount of time working with private promoters for the May 11th event to ensure that public safety measures were understood and included in their Special Event permit application. These efforts were made to address numerous documented public safety concerns from the previous year’s event.
Perkasie Borough understands and respects that many residents and businesses may wish to showcase local musicians on the afternoon of May 11th. Perkasie Borough will make all possible efforts to provide a safe, secure, and sanitary environment, and to ensure the general welfare and public safety of its residents, as we do every day.
