Trash & Recycling
The Borough of Perkasie Public Works Department provides solid waste and recycling services for RESIDENTIAL customers within Borough limits.
Services include weekly curbside collection of trash and recycling, weekly curbside collection of bulk waste and appliances, monthly curbside brush chipping, seasonal leaf collection, and operations at the Borough's residential Recycling Drop-Off Center.
Residential households may opt to use a 64-gallon wheeled trash toter for a quarterly fee, or "Pay-As-You-Throw" trash bags, sold at Borough Hall or local grocery stores.

Curbside RESIDENTIAL TRASH Collection - toters and bags
- Trash must be placed out before 7:00am on scheduled collection day. No call backs for trash placed out after 7:00am.
- Trash should be stored out of signt of the street. Do not store trash on the street.
- Wheeled toter lids must be closed the whole way. Use your own trash bags inside the toter. Use a Pay-As-You-Throw bag for excess trash that does not fit in the toter.
- Pay-As-You-Throw bags must be securely tied. Max bag weight limits: 40lb (large), 20lb (small)
Curbside RESIDENTIAL TRASH Collection - bulky Items
Perkasie's residential trash program includes the curbside collection of ONE bulky item per week. Some bulky waste items - appliances and metals - require a fee for collection.
Bulky Waste: A bulky waste item is something that is too big to fit into a wheeled toter or a Pay-As-You-Go bag. Examples of bulky waste items include: one mattress, one boxspring, one chair, one table, one vacuum cleaner, one roll of carpeting, one sofa, one toilet, one sink. We collect bulky waste items weekly, on the same day as regular trash and recycling. Bulky waste items must be set out alongside a wheeled toter or Pay-As-You-Go bag.
Appliances or metals: these items are collected weekly on WEDNESDAYS and are subject to a fee. Call in at Borough Hall during normal business hours to request pick up and pay for a sticker in advance. Set out the item with the sticker clearly displayed before 7:00am.
RECYCLING PICK-UP FOR BOROUGH RESIDENTS IS AS FOLLOWS:
COMINGLED (plastics, glass, tin, auminum)
- Set out PLASTICS, GLASS, TIN, ALUMINUM EVERY WEEK by 7:00am on the SAME DAY as TRASH COLLECTION.
- Use your own RECYCLING container and set it alongside your Borough TRASH toter or bag.
PAPER & CARDBOARD
- Set out PAPER & CARDBOARD for collection by 7:00am EVERY FRIDAY
As always, RESIDENTS are also able to drop off separated recyclables at the Borough’s Recycling Drop Off Center.
We accept the following items for recycling (Note: we do not collect or accept recyclables in plastic bags):

The Bucks County Planning Commission website has information about the correct disposal of leftover paint, electronics, appliances (including those with Freon) and hazardous waste events. - PLASTIC BAGS
Take plastic bags to the dedicated recycling bin at the grocery store, or throw them in the trash. - ELECTRONICS
Perkasie PC Repair & Recycling accept electronics for recycling. Most small electronics are FREE to recycle. There is a fee to dispose of TVs and computer monitors.
