Residents are advised that shut off notices were mailed today, Friday April 17th, to holders of electric accounts that are in arrears. Please note that Perkasie Borough Council has waived all new late fees on electric accounts and has suspended disconnections for non-payment. While shut off notices have been mailed with a due date of May 1st, the Borough will NOT shut off electric for non-payment on this date.
Shut off notices provide necessary evidence of need for account holders who may be able to apply for assistance in paying their bills, and Borough Code states that landlords should receive copies on late notices and shut off notices so they are apprised of the account status.
Revised shut off notices with an updated date will be sent out as and when Borough Council move to reintroduce penalties for late and non payment, and before any consequences are imposed.
