STREET SWEEPING: Residents and businesses are advised that Public Works will make one pass through the Borough to sweep streets beginning Monday April 25th. Your street will be swept on the SAME DAY that your trash is collected. Please – if you are able – move your vehicle off the street until after the sweeper has passed through, so that crews can reach materials at the curb line.
Perkasie Borough Council seeks Borough residents who would be interested in serving on various appointed Boards and Commissions. The following positions offer a unique opportunity to serve your community and learn more about municipal services:
- 1 vacancy Civil Service Commission alternate member
The Civil Service is responsible for personnel administration for Police Officers in the Borough including oversight of testing, promotions, and review of disciplinary matters. The alternate would stand in for a Civil Service Commissioner that might be able to attend a meeting.
- 1 vacancy Perkasie Planning Commission
This board has the responsibility for advising Borough Council on land use planning, zoning proposals and the Borough’s Comprehensive Plan.
- 1 vacancy Zoning Hearing Board alternate member
As an alternate, appointed resident would stand in for Zoning Hearing Board members that may not be able to attend a hearing. The Zoning Hearing Board performs an important function in reviewing appeals and variances to the Borough Zoning Ordinance.

- 1 Park and Recreation Youth Delegate
This position is for any High School Junior or Senior Borough resident (for the 2022-2023 school year). It is an opportunity to provide input on a variety of matters that come before the Park and Recreation Board. Youth delegates are encouraged to participate in all public discussions, but may not vote.

PERKASIE BOROUGH COUNCIL VACANCY
Perkasie Borough Council is seeking residents of the first ward interested in being considered for appointment to the Perkasie Borough Council. The term is available through December 31, 2023. To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must be a registered voter residing in the first ward.
Applications will be received up until April 14, 2022. Appointment will be made at the Perkasie Borough Council meeting April 18, 2022 which begins at 7:00 PM.
Appointment to the Borough Council is a unique opportunity for individuals to serve their community and be involved with the critical issues of Borough operations including subdivisions, budgeting and community and economic development.

We have 40 spots open on poles in the Borough and will continue taking orders until all spots are filled. Our first order for banners will be submitted July 1st and banners hung in September before Veterans Day, 2022.

Perkasie Borough Announces
Spring Leaf Collection
Perkasie Borough will begin curbside spring leaf collection starting on Monday April 18, 2022. Borough crews will make one pass through the Borough following the established routes.
Residents are reminded that they must have their leaves curbside by 7:00 AM on Monday April 18.
There will be no call backs for leaves placed out after April 18.
Leaf piles should be placed so they do not block storm drains. Please ensure that the leaf piles are free of any stones or other debris that may cause injury to employees or damage to the machinery. Grass clippings and sticks will not be picked up by Borough crews and will be left curbside for residents to dispose of correctly.
Residents are also reminded that they may drop off yard waste on the first Saturday of every month at the Borough Recycling Center located at 311 S. 9th St. Drop off begins at 7:30 AM and ends promptly at 3:30 PM. No late arrivals please. Leaves and other yard waste being brought in must either be in cans or paper bags. No material will be accepted in plastic bags. This is a free service provided by the Borough for Borough residents only, no contractors are allowed. Proof of Borough residency may be required and must be presented if asked for by the attendant. Please follow the signs and the attendants’ directions at the recycling center for proper disposal site information.
