That’s why the Borough has partnered with an agency to provide a broad range of emergency notification for its residents. Below you will read about ReadyNotifyPA . The Borough of Perkasie strongly recommends its citizens to sign up this emergency notification program. ReadyNotifyPA is a 5-County regional notification system intended to provide all-types of emergency notifications that are relevant to an entire area (i.e. Bucks County).

When situations arise in Southeastern Pennsylvania that may affect you and your family, ReadyNotifyPA lets local officials notify you quickly.

ReadyNotifyPA can send an E-mail or a text message to your cell phone or other E-mail enabled device. You let ReadyNotifyPA know how you’d like to be notified. The alerts are free; however, your cellular provider may charge for text messaging. Receiving text messages is easy and not just for kids.

Special Needs Registry

Lessons learned from past disaster tell us it is never to early to prepare. Advanced planning and preparedness is especially important for people with special needs, which is defined as those individuals who cannot receive, understand or act upon emergency protective orders. During a natural or manmade disaster that requires evacuation, it is important that everyone be prepared to evacuate him or herself to the greatest extent possible. However, there will be those who must rely on emergency responders despite their individual preparedness efforts. In those instances, emergency responders must be able to rapidly identify the location, accessibility issues and mobility requirements.

The Bucks County Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the Bucks County Health Department and the County Commissioners, are introducing the Special Needs Registry for individuals who will require assistance during an emergency.

The Special Needs Registry is a free, voluntary, and strictly confidential program. It is designed to help those who would have difficulty during evacuation, because of physical or cognitive limitations, language barriers, or lack of transportation. It will help your first responders make the best use of limited time and resources to help those with no other options for evacuation during an emergency. Individuals (or caregivers on their behalf) are able to register electronically, by accessing or contacting their municipal emergency management coordinator or county EMA office. Numerous communities, civic, faith-based, medical, and non-profit organizations are also helping to register people with special needs.

The Special Needs Registry is a regional initiative; participating counties include Bucks, Montgomery and Chester counties.

Communication and public emergency notification is vital for preparing and responding to emergencies. This is just one of the ways that the Borough of Perkasie is working to improve the safety of our citizens, their property and our local churches, schools and businesses.
