All membership in Perkasie Fire Company No. 1 is strictly voluntary. Our members are not “on-call”, but if available to respond to the Station when alerted. There are four (4) different types of membership. All monthly meetings and Department training occur on Thursday evenings. Each member is expected to earn 36 points per year and must attend a minimum of four (4) monthly business meetings per year to remain in Active status. Most of our members achieve annual point levels well above the minimum required. The minimum requirement sets a lower limit that allows members flexibility with work, home, school, etc., but by no means sets a minimum expectation. A minimum of four (4) points must be earned in support of fundraising efforts. Fundraising points are earned at a rate of one (1) point for every two (2) hours of work; therefore a minimum of eight (8) hours of fundraising is required per year. Our primary fundraising events are both breakfasts and food service at community events.

Annual Blood Drive

The Perkasie Fire Company hosts an annual Blood Drive in honor of the Memory of Fire Police Captain Ron Dietrich. Date and Time TBA. Ron Dietrich was a long time member of the Perkasie Fire Company and an active member of the community including being a Crossing Guard, an active Church member, and by playing the piano at nursing homes. He always looked out for the safety of the children in the community. Even the dogs in the community knew him as he always carried dog treats for them. A Blood Drive was one of his last wishes before he passed away. Please come out and donate for this worthy cause. The use of the Blood of one human being to save the life of another is one of the world’s greatest medical achievements. Thousands of people are alive today – happy children, young mothers, accident victims, the elderly who have survived major operations because blood and blood components were available to combat many types of diseases and other medical problems. Blood donations are needed daily in every community throughout the country. Every minute, more than 25 units of blood or specialized blood components are transfused. That’s nearly 37,000 units each and every day. So come on out and help save a life. There will be plenty of light refreshments after your donation. To sign up, go to and enter our sponsor code 14590. Or you can call (800) Give Life. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood, you’ll be glad you did.
