Bucks County has notified the Borough that the Walnut Street Bridge will be closed beginning Monday, September 25th. The closure will last approximately 18 months. Bucks County owns this bridge and will be handling the complete replacement of the structure, which will include the approaches and traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Walnut Street and Constitution Avenue. The County has committed to keeping the intersection of Walnut Street and Constitution Avenue open at all times during the construction. There may be intermittent closures towards the end of the project for road paving.
There will be no Council Meeting on Monday, August 21st. The next meeting of Borough Council will be held on Tuesday, September 5th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Perkasie Borough Hall.
Perkasie Borough is seeking residents that may be interested in volunteering to serve on the PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD. The Board meets monthly and advises Council on many issues associated with parks and recreation. The term is for an unexpired term through December 2017.

At the May 22nd Perkasie Borough Council meeting, a new commemorative Memorial Flag Project was approved by the Council. All are invited to participate in the program by “purchasing” an memorial flag and custom plaque. The flag and plaque will then be installed by the Borough’s Public Works Department on a decorative light pole in the Borough. The new large flags are replacing the previously used trio of smaller flags. The flags will remain on the light poles from Memorial Day through Labor Day each year. Perkasie Borough Council approved the purchase of many of the flags in advance of the project start. Interested people can see the flags on poles along Market Street between 7th and 6th Streets.
