Special Public Meetings on the 2017 Preliminary Budget

The Borough Council Finance Committee will meet on Saturday, October 1 at 9:00 a.m. at the Borough Hall to review the proposed 2017 budgets for the Public Wrks, Refuse, Police and Capital Funds.  

A second meeting is scheduled for October 15  at 9:00 a.m. and will focus on the 2017 Electric Fund budget as well as the Menlo Aquatics Center, Parks and Recreation Department, Administration and Finance Departments and a continued discussion of the 2017 Capital Budget.

Both these meetings, as well as all Borough Council meetings, are open to the public.

BOROUGH SEEKING PART TIME LABORERS

Perkasie Borough is seeking one part-time permanent laborer and one part-time temporary laborer for the Public Works Department.  Work involves collection of trash and recycling, manual labor & grounds maintenance.

Perkasie is host to 2016 Excellence in Design Seminar and Tour

Perkasie is delighted to host the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce as they bring their 2016 Excellence in Design Seminar and Tour to town this week.

The seminar and panel discussion is free to attend but registration is required: Thursday 22nd Sept at the Bucks County Community College, Upper Bucks Campus on Hillendale Road.
The tour costs $25 in advance: 1pm – 4pm on Sunday 25th September and concludes with light refreshments and a reception at Free Will Brewing.

BUCKS COUNTY OFFERING FREE FLU SHOTS

Bucks County will offer free flu shots to residents age 3 and older at three upcoming clinics, beginning in Upper Bucks this weekend.
The flu shot clinics will take place at the following times and locations:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bucks County Health Department’s district office at 261 California Road, Richland.
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at the health department’s district office at 7321 New Falls Road in Bristol Township.
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Neshaminy Manor Center health building at 1282 Almshouse Road in Doylestown Township.

No appointments are needed for the upcoming clinics. After Oct. 15, residents may call the health department at 215-345-3318 for information about how to get a flu shot.

BOROUGH ACCEPTING BIDS FOR SNOW REMOVAL SERVICES

Sealed proposals (Perkasie Borough Bid Proposal #2016-7) will be received by the Borough of Perkasie at the Borough Office, 620 West Chestnut Street, PO Box 96, Perkasie, Pennsylvania, until 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday October 19, 2016 for the supply of Snow Removal Equipment with Operator. All bids received will be opened and read aloud at a meeting to be held at 10:00 A.M. on, October 19, 2016 in the Borough office at the same address.

SPRUCE STREET PLAY AREA CLOSED

The playground on Spruce Street, off of Constitution Avenue, will be closed starting Wednesday, September 14 for renovations.  The area will be closed until further notice while the existing equipment is removed and new play equipment is installed. We appreciate your patience.  It will be worth the wait.

AARON CLARK APPOINTED COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SECOND WARD

At their meeting on September 6, the Perkasie Borough Council appointed Aaron Clark to Borough Council representing Ward 2; replacing Richard Brummett who resigned last month.

Mr. Clark is a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Pennridge High School and Penn State University.  He most recently served on the Borough Planning Commission and is also a member of the Perkasie Historical Society.
